This edition of Wednesday Wanderlust takes us to the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan to explore the Bartang Valley. Possibly the best overlanding road in the world.

We have interviewed many world travelers as part of our interview series and they have been to all parts of the world. Traveling remote roads in all continents. The one road that seems to be the consensus as the one road to rule them all is the Pamir Highway through the Bartang Valley. It combines the rugged isolated driving that people desire and combines it with a sparsely populated mountain region with just enough specific culture to create the ultimate off-road driving experience.

There are of course many other roads that offer similar experiences. Roads that may have a more vibrant culture experiences or more hard core driving challenges or a more beautiful landscape, but very few bring all three together in this way.

Check out this weeks video from our friends Steph and Leigh from their @grizzlynbear.overland YouTube Channel. You’ll get a sense of what I am talking about. You’ll also want to make sure you subscribe to their channel.

Enjoy!
