WEDNESDAY WANDERLUST: GATES OF THE ARCTIC

By Paul Strubell of Dirt Orcas – 10/4/17

This edition of Wednesday Wanderlust takes us hiking and pack-rafting in Gates of the Arctic National park near the Brooks Range of Alaska.

I have a soft spot for pack-rafts. Probably because I have never done it. However it looks like a hole bunch of adventure to me and I love that. Hiking wide open mountain ranges, sharing the space with caribou, wolves, and grizzlies. Then unpacking your little boat to float down a snow feed river.

This video from Luc Mehl will certainly stoke your adventurous fire and make you want to get out for a walk. Maybe even a really long one in Northern Alaska.
