WEDNESDAY WANDERLUST: 100 MILE RUN IN OURAY
By Paul Strubell of Dirt Orca’s – 4/11/18
Today’s edition of Wednesday Wanderlust takes us to one of my favorite towns in the west, Ouray, Colorado.
Because it seems like spring has finally sprung here in the Midwest, I am also thinking about dusting off the running shoes and blissfully breaking out of the winter routine.
Enter my wanderlust for things found in this great video from John Shellington, titled ” Ouray 100 Mile Endurance Run“.
As a former college soccer player, I still have a strong desire to compete and push myself athletically, but like many former athletes who’s bodies are turning against them, my mind and body are no longer on the same page. That can be frustrating. Enter endurance running. You can do it if you want it badly enough. It’s as simple as that. It offers a new set of athletic challenges but also the kind where you are really only competing against yourself. Add in some breathtaking scenery from a picture perfect mountain town and what more could you want?
Enjoy.
