BACKCOUNTRY DISCOVERY ROUTES: CA – SOUTH

By Paul Strubell of Dirt Orca’s – 10/31/18

I received an email today from Backcountry Discovery Routes that their new trailer for the SoCalBDR route has been released. It does not disappoint.

A few notes:

One, this route looks fantastic and I am very excited about more winter riding options from BDR.

Two, Noren Films has really improved their game. The production quality and editing here are vastly improved over previous editions.

As some of you know, I work with BDR to help promote my annual summer ride, The Dirt Orca’s Summer Classic. We have shown their route movies under the stars, on the big screen to our attendees each year.

The route movies are always fun, educational, and inspirational and I am looking forward to showing this one next summer at the Summer Classic.

Enjoy!!

“Free GPS tracks, Butler Motorcycle Map, feature length documentary film and trip resources for CABDR-South will be available to the public January 1, 2019 at www.RideBDR.com. The California Backcountry Discovery Route (#CABDR-South) is the ninth route developed by the BDR non-profit for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel. This spectacular, yet challenging, 820-mile off-pavement ride starts in Yuma, AZ and ends in Benton, CA. The route primarily uses rugged two-track and desolate dirt roads leading travelers through California’s majestic canyons, rocky riverbeds, and sandy washes. Experience quirky desert enclaves and ghost towns, visit historic mines, see ancient petroglyphs and intaglios, dip in healing mineral hot springs and ride among the unique Joshua trees in the Mojave National preserve.”
